No Fear

In younger times, when I or one of my friends did or were thinking of doing something wrong, we'd say that God recorded it on tape (no DVDs back then).  When we got to heaven, He would roll out a TV on a metal cart and press play.  Then we'd get to see all the sins that hadn't been forgiven.  In fact, it used to scare me when a preacher would say that if I died with any unconfessed sin in my life, I'd be left out of heaven.

The Pursuit of Happiness

I think it would be weird if my dad were President.  Granted, I'd probably be following a hobbit-like eating schedule and running through the halls of the White House, but to hear people calling him Mr. President would just be strange.  Whereas, I would have total access and be able to enjoy his company and know him for who he is, others would be setting up appointments to see him and trying to impress him with this or that out of fear or respect.

And You Are . . ?

Remember your teenage years?  Acne, weird hairstyles, funny clothes and just generally trying to figure out who you were.   Have you ever woken up with a confused identity?  My wife wears so many hats it's like watching a circus act where a unicycle rider is balance bowling balls and card tables on her chin.  In her case, she's a wife, mother, photographer, musician, and the list keeps going.  How about with God?   Do you ever feel more like a butler or maid than His child?  That's the real question isn't it.  Are you a servant or God's son or daughter?  The answer depends on how He loves you.
